Gate Installation in Baton Rouge
The gate is the part of a fence you touch every day, and the part that fails first when it's built poorly. Whether you need a simple walk gate, a double drive gate wide enough for a trailer or an automatic opener, the hardware and the hinge posts matter most.
Walk gates and drive gates
Single walk gates for side yards, double drive gates for boats, trailers and lawn equipment, and rolling or cantilever gates where a swing gate won't fit. Heavier gates need heavier hinge posts set deeper in concrete, especially in soft, wet soil.
Automatic gate openers
Swing and slide operators, keypads, remotes, and app-based access can be added to aluminum, steel, vinyl and wood gates. Openers should include safety features such as obstruction sensing, and the gate must be designed for the operator.
Hardware that lasts in humidity
Stainless or heavy-galvanized hinges and latches, self-closing hinges for pool gates, and drop rods for double gates prevent the rust and sagging that plague cheap hardware.

Frequently asked questions
How wide should a driveway gate be?
It depends on what needs to pass through. Measure your widest vehicle or trailer and allow extra clearance; your installer can recommend a width.
Can you add a gate to my existing fence?
Usually yes. A section is removed and new hinge and latch posts are set to carry the gate's weight.
Do automatic gates need electricity at the gate?
Most need power at the gate, though solar-powered openers are available for low-traffic gates.
